Policy Conference Videos and Information
All these thoughts went through my head like ‘I may
never see him again.’ I tried not to think that way, but it’s very
emotional to have a child go into a combat zone. I knew that my son was
out there in a humvee or on foot patrol. I had the chance to go to
Israel with a delegation representing various American veterans groups. I
was able to go to the factories where Israelis are manufacturing some
of the technology like interactive armor and specialized tiles for the
tanks that protect our children—our soldiers—when there is an explosion.
These are amazing innovations that keep our military sons and daughters
safe. I was astounded.
When you are a military mom, you live in constant fear. But Israel’s innovations gave me hope, and
allowed me to come home to the U.S., and share that hope with other military mothers.
